I’ll go ahead and say it Portland, Maine is one of the best places I’ve ever been to in my life. Yes, I have a lot of places to visit in my lifetime, but for now, it’s number one on my list. As with anywhere with anywhere we travel, food is very high on the list. The fresh seafo0d alone was worth the trip. Since we only had a day to explore, we wanted to cover as much ground as possible. Our first stop was this small restaurant, The Porthole.
I’m a lover of clam chowder and THIS HERE tasted like heaven in a bowl.
The crab cakes and pollack fish tacos were exceptional.
On the way back to the hotel, we stopped and had ice cream from Captain Sam’s, Naturally, I had the Kentucky bourbon and salted caramel.
We asked around and a lot of people said Gilbert’s Chowder House had the best lobster rolls. So off we went!
THIS WAS AMAZING. The meat was sweet and fresh. This is was my first lobster roll and it has set the standard. I got mine without mayo.
I’ve added Portland to my 2017 Mid-Year Travel List and for more culinary exploration. Color this chica excited!
